Illustration Features
He focuses not only on the illustration, but also printmaking and painting. Beside that, his focus is also on the fresco decoration of cathedrals and painting of altar pictures and church interiors. He works also as a teacher. He illustrated about 150 books. He belongs to outstanding children's book illustrators. In his work there is possible to observe his inner sensibility that helps to recover the innocence of a child. His illustrations are realistic and at the same time very fragile with all their details well elaborated. He uses also painting and printmaking techniques and their combination in his illustrations. Although his illustrations are often situated in a real environment, they radiate a powerful magic of a fairy tale. Since 1982 he has been living and working in Florece, Italy.
