Igor Derevenec

Igor Derevenec was born on the 12th of February 1974 in Bratislava. He studied art education at the Faculty of Education of Comenius University in Bratislava.

Illustrations by Igor Derevenec are intended for older children. They are created by computer techniques and represent a reflection of the world of fantastical creatures and animals, whom the illustrator ascribes human qualities. Striking, expressive colours emphasizing the power of the illustrated story are typical of his illustrations. His witty stylisation of figures and animals highlights their character qualities. His illustrations are very dynamic, with a strong humorous drive noticeable in each of his pictures.
