František Jurišič
Biography
In 1967 after graduation from architecture studies at the Faculty of Civil Engennering STU in Bratislava, František Jurišič entered a job in the animation department of the Short Film Studio Koliba. He had significantly contributed to establishing the foundations of the 3D animation in Koliba, Bratislava. He participated in animation workshops in Annecy, Čekovec and Třeboň. Since 1985 he had lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts, later since 1993 at the Academy of Performing Arts, Film Faculty in Bratislava, recently as the head of animation department.

One of leading Slovak directors and animators, a pioneer of the puppet film and clay animation technique, the professor. His portfolio includes 140 projects for the young audience with a variety of animation techniques (The Tale from a Sack; It´s Flying, It´s Flying, a Plate Is Flying), a collection of clay animation films awarded home and abroad (Coock-a-doodle-doo, Ecomorphosis) as well as film sketches (Viktor Kubal, a Magician; Rudo Urc, the Film-maker). Jurišič entered the awareness of children viewers the most memorably thanks to several series of TV bed-time stories (The Tiniest Heroes, Clay Fairytales, Bratislava Fairytales).
