Petra Hilbert Štrelingerová

Petra Hilbert Štrelingerová was born on the 25th of February 1977 in Bratislava. She studied reproductive graphic arts at the Secondary Specialized School of Printing in Bratislava and later the puppet theatre stage design at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She was involved as a graphic designer in projects of the Arts and Theatre Institute in Prague. 

Her illustrations are distinguished by colourful poetics and experimenting with art forms. Petra Štrelingerová's drawing is minimalistic, accentuating precise elaborate lines. Using bold colour accents, the artist strengthen the tout ensemble. Her figures are intensely stylized with clear lines; their seeming simplicity easily draws the young spectator into the illustrated story. Besides illustrating books, she devotes herself to printmaking and painting.
