Tadeusz Wilkosz
Biography
Tadeusz Wilkosz was born on 3rd March 1934 in Krakow. He studied film graphics at the Academy of Applied Arts (UMPRUM) in Prague where he graduated in 1956. After the time spent in the Czech Studio of Animated Film, he started working as an assistant director in the Studio of Puppet Film in Lódź in 1958. Based in this studio which later changed its name to Se-ma-for (Studio of Small Film Forms), Wilkosz made most of his films.

Tadeusz Wilkosz is an outstanding Polish director, scriptwriter and designer of animated films. Children from all over the world know his puppet heoes. He has made a number of interesting short films (Dick and His Cat, 1966; Dragon Barnaba, 1977), but his speciality has always been the creating of series. He directed 53 episodes of the popular series on Colargol Bear (in cooperation with French company Procidis) as well as a puppet TV series about three bears Kuba, Misia and Bartek or a TV series Little Penguin Pik-Pok based on book by Adam Bahdaj. Tadeusz Wilkosz has received a number of awards for his animation work at international film festivals like in Krakow (1961), Paris (1972), Cairo (2005), Lódź (2010), Poznań (2012).
