Biography

Helena Slavíková-Rabarová was born in 1943 in Šaštín. After graduating grammar schol in Senica she studied stage technology, lighting and sound in SPŠE in Bratislava. She worked in National puppet theatre in Bratislava as a lighting engineer. Later she was accepted to study at Theatre faculty, department of Dramaturgy and theatre science. Slavíková-Rebarová´s education peaked with diploma work about puppet theatre.

Illustration Features

While she was still a student, she became the first ever female dramaturge of the Animated Film with a clearly defined department concept. Finally, she became also a director and gradually distinguished herself as a scriptwriter and director.  The most outstanding feature of her works is strong national feeling. She also pays attention to folk heritage and natural monuments as components forming national identity since our childhood.
