Roma Sam

The Roma Sam exposition is the result of a nine-year co-operation between the scenarist and the Roma community in the fields of visual arts, literature, dramatic arts, and creativity. In 1990, another display was opened in a gallery setting of the same name – Roma Sam. The exhibition involved a vast array of art products by Romany children from all around the former Czechoslovakia, inspired by motifs and symbols from Romany tales plus examples of a variety of literary genres. The exposition was bilingual. This new project is after 21 years a continuation of the original one, and it is intended for children, as well as general public. The fundamental idea of this display lies in family values that open a whole new dimension of this particularly topical social issue and its solution. The exhibition presents originals made by both Romany children and adults, the related supporting photo documentation, and ancient Romany symbols and Romany proverbs.   
At the same time, the purpose of the exposition is to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Pramienok (Springlet) civic association’s commencement of operations.
