IBBY-UNESCO international workshop held on 19-21 September 1996 in Bratislava was focused on various links to literacy - writing, illustrating, selling and distributing books for children and young people. The workshop was organised by the Austrian and Slovak UNESCO Commissions, the Austrian and Slovak sections of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People), the Austrian Ministry of Science, Transport and the Arts, and BIBIANA, the international house of art for children. The participants represented 13 countries from Central and Eastern Europe.
