Slovak Animated Movies Not Only for Children

At this event with a long lasting tradition, Slovak animated movies for children, which were projected at 10th BAB, were presented. Seven Festival Themes were created in the Atelier of Animation at The Academy of Performing Arts especially for this event along with the movie Viliam, by the debutant director Veronika Obertová, which won the 10th BAB Award of the Literary Foundation. As a preview, we projected a new Slovak animated movie by Katarína Kerekesová, Stones (Kamene). During a spontaneous discussion about the perspectives of animation at a local, as well as international level, we showed many common problems as well as potential solutions. The Czech audience was convinced that this kind of mutual cultural exchange presents unique options for the near future.
