The exhibition "The Story of Illustration" celebrates the jubilee of the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava. It is a visual journey exploring the world of children’s book illustrations. Spanning two floors, the exhibition showcases the works of illustrators honoured over the last six decades, as well as a range of art techniques, styles, and visual approaches.
The exhibition is not merely a presentation of beautiful pictures, but also an invitation into the magical world of fantasy. Each illustration recounts its own story and is also part of a larger theme—the black and white world, the world of the oldest and youngest illustrations, the world of myths, fables and tales, or the world of heroes and animal friends. The Story of Illustration is a breathtaking tale of the power of pictures and fantasy, fusing traditions and innovations, the past and the present.
