Slovak National Theatre
Little Dorothy lives with her uncle Henry and aunt Emma in Kansas. During a fierce storm, a tornado lifts her up and transports her to a distant land. Her wish is to return home, but the only person who can help her is the mighty Wizard of Oz from the Emerald City. So, Dorothy sets off along the yellow brick road to meet the wizard. On her way, she meets the Scarecrow, who lacks a brain and desires to have one, the Tin Woodman, who desires a heart, and the Cowardly Lion, who desires courage. Dorothy and her friends discover that the Wizard is merely an ordinary man without any magical powers. Still, he can gift the Scarecrow a brain, the Tin Woodman a heart, and the Lion courage, because after all, they had everything they had desired all along.
On the occasion of the Biennial’s anniversary, BIBIANA invites you to watch a re-enactment of this famous novel performed by the ensemble of the National Theatre in Košice.
