The Ľudovít Fulla Award 2025 is presented for significant illustrative work to date or for an exceptional work that enriches Slovak illustration for children.
This year's winner is academic painter, graphic artist, and illustrator Katarína Vavrová (1964), who lives and works in Pezinok. The jury praised her for enriching contemporary Slovak illustration with new poetic and imaginative forms of expression, her long-term contribution to the development of illustrative art, and the unique continuity of her life's work.
The Trojruža Award is given to authors who have significantly enriched Slovak literature for children and young people with their work, introducing new themes and speaking the language of young people while maintaining artistic quality and sensitivity.
This year, the prestigious award went to writer and linguist Peter Karpinský (1971). The jury praised his ability to appeal to young readers with lively storytelling that not only captivates but also subtly educates, as well as the authenticity of his characters, who could easily exist in the real world.
