On April 2, 2026, the exhibition “Children’s Hearts Across the World – 60 Years of BIB” opened in Beijing, presenting a cross-section of global illustration from 1967 to the present. This marks the first launch of the “BIB China” project. The exhibition features a selection of Grand Prix BIB award-winning works, notable award-winning pieces from 2025, as well as a separate section dedicated to Chinese authors honored at BIB. The exhibition also includes interactive elements and an accompanying program for children and families, including workshops with illustrators.Chinese illustrators Wu Mao and Hei Mi, winners of the BIB Golden Apple Award, also attended the event and spontaneously drew alongside visitors. Wu Mao also led a workshop titled “Even Illustrators Revise Their Work,” where he introduced children to the process of creating a picture book—from the initial idea to the final production. The project traces 60 years of illustration development in an international context and promotes dialogue between cultures through visual art and children’s literature. The exhibition runs through June 7, 2026
