BIBIANA, the International House of Art for Children, is presenting a panel exhibition showcasing the award-winning works from the 30th Bratislava Biennial of Illustration (BIB) 2025, one of the most prestigious international competitions for children’s book illustration. The exhibition is being held at the University Library in Bratislava.
Across 25 exhibition panels, visitors can view the illustrations that won the top prizes at BIB 2025. The exhibition features the BIB 2025 Grand Prix, won by an illustrator from Iran, as well as other statutory awards – five BIB 2025 Golden Apples and four BIB 2025 Plaques.
Among the laureates is the prominent Slovak illustrator Peter Uchnár, who has taken part in almost every edition of the Bratislava Biennial of Illustration (with the exception of BIB 2023). Over the years, he has received numerous awards for his work, and at the 30th anniversary edition he was awarded the BIB 2025 Plaque.
The international jury also awarded four Honourable Mentions to publishers and the Children’s Jury Prize, which went to Japan. All these awards represent significant international recognition for both illustrators and publishers and open up new opportunities for them to showcase their work around the world.
