The national event, lasting three days, is organised as part of the celebrations of the International Children's Book Day. Its main objectives are meetings of book authors with children in schools and libraries, professional lectures for teachers and librarians "Past and Presence of Fairy Tales", and expositions of books and illustrations for children and youth. Part of the Children´s Book Day were the Illustrators Awarded at BIB 2007, The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 2007, and The Best and Most Beautiful Children's Books of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter in Slovakia 2007 expositions.
