The national event is organised as part of celebrations of the International Children's Book Day. Its main objectives was primarily meetings of book authors with children. A part of the programme was a professional lecture " Children and Book" and expositions of books and illustrations. During the event, several expositions were opened: The Best and Most Beautiful Children´s Books 2004-2007, Grand Prix BIB 1967-2007, Slovak Illustrators Awarded at BIB 1967-2005 and Illustrators Awarded at BIB 2007.
