The national three-day event is organised as part of the celebrations of the International Children's Book Day. Its main objectives are meetings of book authors with children in schools and libraries, a professional lecture for pedagogues and librarians and expositions of books and illustrations for children and youth. Part of the event were The Most Beautiful and Best Books 1990-1996, The Most Beautiful Books of Slovakia 1995 and 1996, IBBY Honour Lists 1992 and 1994, and World Illustration of Books for Children.
