Jury statement
The Triple Rose Award apprizes an outstanding literary work which had considerably contributed to development of Slovak literature for children and youth. In 2012 the Literary Fund, the Slovak Section of IBBY and BIBIANA, the international house of art for children decided to grant this award to Julius Balco for his life-long literary work for the innovatory fairy-tale-like manner presenting the meaningful values of human life to both children and adult readers.
