In his life-long work Professor Holesovsky, teacher, art historian and researcher, had layed the foundations of Czech and Slovak theory of book illustration for children and youth. In connection with his own research he introduced the theory of a child´s aesthetic perception and explored the role of the book illustration in its advancement.
